This season we encourage you to embrace the jolie laide appeal of tan lines with some creative self-tanner application. Slip on your swimsuit and start slathering on some cream to create a deliberately botched look that is delightfully cheeky and even surprisingly, subversively sexy.

Perfect your tan lines

Use a product like Omorovicza’s Glam Glow for overnight, sun-kissed colour with added skincare benefits. The Budapest-based brand derives all of its formulations from Hungary’s famed thermal waters, which have been used for centuries to cure ailments and improve general health. Glam Glow includes its patented Healing Concentrate to leave skin firmer and smoother, while added apple pectin and plum almond oil deliver hydration. It is a buildable tanner designed to suit all skin tones, and it can be paired with the brand’s Gold Shimmer Oil and Daily Vitamin C for an added glow.

For a more dramatic tan line contrast, try Sisley Paris’ Sun Glow Gel, which is formulated with soothing lavender and regenerative sesame oil for added skincare benefits. And if you would rather not use a cream, we recommend you try Dior’s Liquid Sun self-tanning water. The spray-on tanner transforms into a milky water as soon as it hits the skin and melts into the surface to create a gentle bronze glimmer.
